My father left his home in Italy with his mother, father, sister, two 1/2 brothers and a 1/2 sister in 1924. He was 9 years old. They settled on Jackson Avenue in the lower Bronx. My grandfather had come to the United States earlier and became a naturalized citizen. He then went back to Italy for my grandmother and the rest of his children.
